The 8 Mega-Pixel Samsung 'Innov8' Mobile Phone Launched -

After first launching the 5 megapixel camera phones in 2004, followed by the 7 megapixel camera in 2005 and finally the innovative 10 megapixel SCH-B600 for the Korean market in 2006, Samsung’s unveiling of the Samsung innov8 crosses all supremacy in mobile entertainment.

Samsung’s innov8 comes as a major boon in the lives of mobile lovers. It has practically everything which the users can ask or desire for. The major attraction of the set is its 8 mega pixel camera. The set also offers surround-sound cinematic video, amazing internet browsing as well as mobile gaming capabilities, taking the users in a new world of photography and multimedia experience.

The innov8 will help the users capture and store the precious moments of their lives in style with its blink shot, smile shot and face recognition.
Samsung has positioned the phone as a multimedia phone along the same line’s as Nokia’s N96, rolling a legitimate digital camera into a capable smartphone. Coupling an impressive 8-megapixel camera sensor with a large 2.8-inch LCD screen gives it capture and display specs comparable to that of many pocket cams.
Besides the camera, there’s also HSDPA capability and Wi-Fi for snappy Web browsing, and up to 16GB of internal storage for music and video, with the option to expand it by another 16GB using a microSDHC card, plus GPS. The Innov8 will run Symbian OS V9.3, S60, the same OS as its Nokia competitor.

It isn't the prettiest phone in the work, the looks can perhaps best be described as "purposeful". Overall though, this is an extremely impressive package and in our view the only thing that it could really use is a touchscreen.

With no word by Samsung on the price, the transcendent mobile entertainer, Samsung innov8 i8510 will be launched in Europe in August and should reach other global markets by September

The good: Classy design with solid build quality; excellent keypad; decent set of camera features; 3G with HSDPA; Bluetooth with A2DP; FM radio; microSD expansion card slot.

The bad: Uses LED instead of Xenon flash; screen legibility suffers under direct sunlight; character limit in subject field when creating calendar appointments; below average battery life; sluggish picture browsing on the phone.

The bottom line: The Samsung Soul doesn't do everything; there's no Wi-Fi or GPS for starters. But for everything else, there's plenty enough to enjoy.
