How to Speed Up With A USB Stick

If you’ve got yourself a large USBFlash drive (at least 1 GB, preferably 2),you can move your system’s page fileonto it for significantly betterperformance, because accessing flashmemory is typically faster than youraverage hard disk.
You should also optimise the Flashdrive for performance—right-click on itin My Computer, select Properties. Go tothe Hardware tab, select your Flashdrive and click Properties. Under thePolicies tab, select “Optimise forperformance”.
A couple of caveats: Firstly, if youremove this drive while Windows isrunning, you could cause it to crash, sobe careful there. Secondly, Flash drivesare good only for limited read/writecycles, so this approach is definitelygoing to eat into its lifetime. Use thistip only for when you really need theperformance boost rather than as apermanent solution.
