How to Restrict the Start Menu, Explorer and the Desktop


By restricting the start menu explorer and the desktop we can save valuable data from other users ,steps involve are ..
Start Regedit

Go to HKEY_Current_User / Software / Microsoft / Windows / CurrentVersion / Policies

There should already be at least a Explorer section there already Additional keys that can be created under Policies are Win Old App You can then add DWORD values set to 1 in the appropriate keys To re-enable them, either delete the key or set the value to 0

ClearRecentDocsOnExit = Clear of Recent Documents on Exit
No Add Printer = Adding new printers
No Close = Computer Shutdown
No DeletePrinter = Delete Installed Printers
No Desktop = Doesn't show Desktop items as well as and Desktop right-click menu No DevMgrUpdate = Windows 98/ME web Update Manager
No Drives [hex] = Hides Drives in my computer

No Find = Find command

No InternetIcon = Internet Icon on Desktop
No NetHood = Network Neighborhood
No RecentDocsHistory = Recent Documents in Start Menu
No Run = Run command
No SaveSettings = Save Settings on exit
No SetFolders = Folders in Start Menu -> Settings
No SetTaskbar = Taskbar in Start Menu -> Settings
No SMMyDocs = My Documents folder in Start Menu
No SMMyPictures = My Pictures folder in Start Menu
No WindowsUpdate = Windows web Update
