Pocket sized Mobile Projector turn into reality : Projector phone move closer to reality

Time is not far when your mobile phone will come with a projector to play power point presentations, or movies directly focused on a wall or any other surface. Its not something which is very far. Microvision has developed pico projector displays prototype of a handheld, battery-powered, ‘plug-and-play’ projector based on а single micro-mirror laser scanning display technology at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) held in Las Vegas.

The retail version of the device is expected to offer approximately 2.5 hours of continuous battery life, sufficient to watch a full-length movie without a need for recharging. Microvision reports that SHOW can project a DVD quality image with up to WVGA (848 X 480 pixels) resolution.

This device is plug and play and can be connected with mobile phones ( as shown in the image below ). I dont think it will take much time, when this technology will come inbuilt in mobile phones, and with the leader in mobile technology, I have this feeling that Nokia will be the first one to implement this.

Nokia’s high end Nseries phones like ( N93 , N95 etc) comes with a TV out cable, where you can connect your phone with a TV and enjoy the videos , photos etc on a large screen. You can copy a whole movie in the phone and watch it using the software smartmovie and it really eliminates the need of a dvd player.

Now with the implementation of such technology, I think the worst hit companies will be the one creating box size projectors. With mobile phone having the capability to play powerpoint presentations and display PDF files, upcoming inclusion of projection capabilities will surely turn the concept of mobile phones into mobile office.

SHOW is said to directly connect to laptops, mobile phones, portable media players, digital cameras and other mobile devices to project high-resolution images and video onto any surface.
